About three and a half years ago, I decided to turn the page — in fact, I could say I decided to change the book entirely in my professional life.
After almost fifteen years leading and partnering in an architecture firm, I chose to return to being a freelancer.
However, I didn’t want to waste the wealth of experience and knowledge I had built over the years. That’s why I created IGEC, which at first was little more than a database, a photographic album of my professional memories. But I soon realized that, thanks to the extensive network of contacts I had developed over time, I was still able to carry out complex projects requiring a multidisciplinary approach — something a freelancer alone could never take on.
And this is precisely the heart of IGEC: it’s me, of course, but above all, it’s my network of friends and professionals.
I admit this is the hardest part to explain, because at first glance it might seem to lack the solidity and reliability of a traditional structure. But that’s not the case at all! I’ve discovered that major projects can be accomplished without the daily routine of working in the same office.
